The Morashah Society
The Morashah Society
"As a proud member and past-President of Temple Beth Israel I plan to leave a Planned Gift to TBI. Without question our success is due to the generosity of our members. In recent years it’s been wonderful to see the burgeoning membership and an increase in the enrollment in the Religious School and the Preschool. For that reason, I hope to add to our future success by leaving a gift to TBI in my will."
Rita Shumsky, Member since 1990
What is The Morashah Society?
Providing for the future is a core Jewish principle. Those who choose to arrange for a planned gift in their will or trust to TBI become members of The Morashah Society. Morashah is the Hebrew word for inheritance you give to the next generation. A planned gift to Temple Beth Israel is an opportunity to leave a legacy that will benefit the TBI community for generations to come.
This gesture builds upon our strong foundation of prayer, belonging, learning, and acts of service, but ensures that our congregation will remain a vibrant leader of Conservative Judaism and upholds our proud legacy as the first synagogue in Port Washington.
What are the benefits?
Members of TBI’s Morashah Legacy Society will receive invitations to exclusive TBI programs and are listed annually during the High Holidays. Anyone, regardless of age, wealth, or affiliation, can leave a legacy. Your legacy gift of any size can be customized and structured to fit your dreams, lifestyle, family, and financial needs.
Have you included a gift in your will or trust to TBI?
Please let us know so we can thank you for your lasting commitment to our community, and invite you to become a member of The Morashah Society.

Giving To Temple Beth Israel
Giving tzedakah (financial support) to Temple Beth Israel enables our community to come together to pray, celebrate, socialize, and learn. In addition, your tzedakah provides teachers for our children’s Jewish education, supports adult programs, assists our holy work of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), organizes members to visit the sick and comfort mourners, and much more.
