Karen Bernstein
Trustee
I’m Karen Bernstein. My husband, Hersh Gottesman, and I have been members of TBI since we moved to Port Washington in 2004. Hersh was a TBI Board member several years ago and found it to be a really rewarding experience. We have three kids, Ruthie, Sarah and Jacob, who went to Schechter and so did not attend the religious school, but as they were growing up, we spent most of our Saturdays at shul. Our youngest, who is leaving for college in the fall, attended TBI preschool and I met some of my best friends in town there. I started my career as a trusts and estates lawyer, but switched gears when we had children and have since been involved with various other pursuits, including several volunteer positions, serving on the Northwell IRB committee, and tutoring. I am excited to serve on the Board and look forward to meeting everyone.

Giving To Temple Beth Israel
Giving tzedakah (financial support) to Temple Beth Israel enables our community to come together to pray, celebrate, socialize, and learn. In addition, your tzedakah provides teachers for our children’s Jewish education, supports adult programs, assists our holy work of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), organizes members to visit the sick and comfort mourners, and much more.
