HINENI - STAND WITH TBI Campaign To Pay Off The Mortgage

Shalom, fellow members of our TBI family,
I have wonderful news!
During my Rosh Hashanah address, I announced the beginning of our long-anticipated campaign to retire TBI’s mortgage.
I am delighted to report that in the past few weeks, we have raised close to $600,000 – almost half of our $1.2 million mortgage balance – thanks to the generous commitment of a group of TBI members who have recognized the priority of “paying it forward” so our mortgage can be swiftly “PAID IN FULL.”
We are calling this campaign, “Hineni – Stand With TBI.” “Hineni,” which means “Here I am” is one of the most powerful words in the Torah. When God calls out to Abraham and Sarah with an important task, they respond, saying “Hineni—here I am, ready to do what is necessary for our people.”
Paying off the mortgage will help us immediately and in the future. The immediate benefit is that it will remove a financial strain on our annual operating budget -- $100,000 per year! The future benefit of paying off our mortgage is that it will provide us with long-term financial stability. We are thrilled by how far we’ve come in such a short time to reach our goal. We are nearly halfway there, but the work is not over. That is why I am reaching out to you today.
TBI has been in our present location since 1962, and we all envision this to be our home for many generations to come. We have had close to 1,000 B’nai Mitzvah celebrations in our shul, and have graduated over 2,000 children from our Pre-school and Religious school. . . and I am excited about our future and doubling those numbers! In addition to educating our children and celebrating phenomenal simchas, TBI is filled with wonderful people, who support one another and provide love and strength during times of loss.
We are calling out to you. As we approach the final days of 2019, I am asking you to review your end-of-year giving, and support TBI with a donation to stamp our mortgage PAID IN FULL. Let’s rally and achieve a debt-free 2020.
In the beginning of December you will be receiving our “Hineni – Stand with TBI” brochure asking for your financial commitment. Will you respond with “Hineni”? Please remember no amount is too small or too large to contribute towards achieving our goal. I promise to keep you updated on our progress.
