As Israel is celebrating 75 years of existence,  Rabbi Naamah Kelman and Dr. Elan Ezrachi will reflect on key social, cultural and religious trends in Israeli society. Elan will give an overview of recent trends in Israeli society with a special focus on how Israelis view world and American Jewry. Naamah, the first woman ordained as a rabbi in Israel (1992), will focus on the achievements and challenges of liberal Judaism in the three decades of her work as a leader in the Israeli Reform movement, and how the Reform, Masorti (Conservative) and other Jewish renaissance groups work together to achieve common goals. In addition to being wonderful speakers and people, they are married to each other.
