Hi I’m Bob Epstein. I was born and raised in the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx. I met my wife Beth at a AJC “adventure” tour for Jewish singles to Costa Rica. We have a wonderful daughter named Stefanie who is 25 years old and lives in the East Village.
Beth and I are both recently retired and have since added a sweet and highly energetic puppy named Riley to our family.
Professionally, I was quite fortunate to have worked for many years as a court attorney doing legal research and writing for two highly respected judges each presiding in the criminal term at the Bronx County Courthouse. We remain good friends to this day.
My family moved to Port over 23 years ago and shortly thereafter we joined TBI. We continue to feel grateful to be part of such a welcoming and caring community. I have been involved with the temple library for almost two decades and I’ve made some of my dearest friendships while working together to help revitalize the library. I’ve also served on the ritual, cultural arts and presently the garden committee.
In retirement, I’ve enjoyed volunteering as an ESL tutor with the Port Washington Library teaching students from different backgrounds and cultures. I also serve on the Port Library Foundation Board which raises funds for our thriving public library. As to hobbies, I sing with the Shireinu Choir of LI , play pickleball, tennis, canasta, fantasy baseball and am an avid Mets fan.

Giving To Temple Beth Israel
Giving tzedakah (financial support) to Temple Beth Israel enables our community to come together to pray, celebrate, socialize, and learn. In addition, your tzedakah provides teachers for our children’s Jewish education, supports adult programs, assists our holy work of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), organizes members to visit the sick and comfort mourners, and much more.
