Sisterhood

TBI’s Sisterhood welcomes women of all ages in the synagogue membership and provides an active network within the TBI community.  Regardless of your stage of life, TBI Sisterhood has something to offer you and welcomes your talents and energy! From new members and moms of nursery children to empty nesters and grandmas, this vibrant group of women is just the thing to warm your soul and enhance our spiritual home.

The Sisterhood is intricately involved in synagogue life from fundraising and beautifying the synagogue to organizing community service and social events. The TBI Sisterhood is also a member of the Brooklyn, Queens, Long Island (BQLI) region of the Women’s League for Conservative Judaism (WLCJ) and is the liaison between TBI and the WLCJ Torah Fund.
Sisterhood programs include:

  • Book Club meetings (Fall, Spring & Summer)
  • High Holiday Greeting Card mailing
  • High Holiday Babysitting and Youth Services sponsor
  • Sukkot Dinner
  • Hanukkah Gift Bags for Religious School and Nursery School children
  • Annual Membership Social (March)
  • Family Photo Day (Fall & Spring)
  • Gift Shop (custom yarmulkes, mezuzah scrolls and more!)sisterhood 2

In addition, the members of Sisterhood come together throughout the year for evening social gatherings, informal group events and to patronize and financially support synagogue programs and services.

Sisterhood members often participate in TBI and community-wide mitzvot projects and are always busy lending a helping hand. The Sisterhood of TBI helps to make our congregation a family. To join, contact Leah Siskin, Sisterhood President, at mlsiskin@optonline.net.

TBI Sisterhood gladly accepts donations to honor someone’s simcha, express sympathy, or wish someone refuah shlema.
